  • Where are you based and what cities are you permitted? Va Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, James City, Portsmouth
  • What did you do before you owned a food truck? Worked in catering and bbq under my dad for 15 years, psychology and hospitality college courses at TCC.
  • What do you like most about having a food truck? Making my own schedule, making customers happy and having fun while doing it all.
  • Where did the name of your food truck come from? My family has been in the hog and bbq business for over 50 years- I wanted to do something on my own while keeping the family name so owning a food truck and being mobile what better name than “The Flying Pig”
  • Why did you decide to join HRFTA? I like the structure of an association and I want to always be on the top tier of the food truck movement in my hometown.
  • Why did you decide to open up a food truck? I decided to get in the business to keep the family BBQ name alive and to do something different- a more appealing way of catering in today’s standards I suppose.
