HRFTA: What did you do before you owned a food truck?
James was a culinary specialist in the US Navy and has over 20 years of restaurant experience.

  • Where are you based and what cities are you permitted? Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake
  • What separates your food truck from the rest? Ability to be versatile and creative in our food offerings.
  • Where did the name of your food truck come from? “Paradise” comes from the fact that we are based out of VA Beach and “Bistro” describes the concept of our food; a small restaurant that serves moderately priced delicious meals.
  • What do you like most about having a food truck? Seeing the positive reactions on our customer’s faces when they try our food as well as the ability to work for ourselves and make all of the business decisions.
  • Why did you decide to join HRFTA? We wanted the ability to interact with established chefs and business owners alike.
  • Why did you decide to open up a food truck? James is passionate about food and working with the public.
  • Any other comments? James has competed in several cooking competitions and enjoys the healthy competition those bring. We would also like to continue working with charitable organizations.
